Why Stay Anywhere Else?

Source: Tripadvisor

I've stayed at this resort a few times including when it was a Hilton many years ago. One thing is for sure, this is the BEST hotel in Daytona Beach.

I was out for a romantic weekend in Daytona (came from Virginia) and once again decided on this hotel. We thought we had booked a partial ocean King bed and I called to confirm this 7 hours before arrive (since we would arrive at midnight). When we got there the hotel was sold out but for an Ocean View with two beds or a River View with a King bed. This was a little annoying seeing as I confirmed and we ended up with a River View. Now if you read that and are thinking "so why did you love this hotel?" than read on because all hotels make mistakes but it is the ones that go above and beyond to make you happy that are fantastic.

So we got to our room and crashed since we were tired and thought we would deal with our situation tomorrow. Well we got up and had breakfast at the hotel (expensive but good) and we ended up staying at the hotel the entire day. Why? Because it is beautiful. It is calming yet fun. You can start off with a walk on the beach followed by laying at the pool with a few drinks. Later on you can sit in the hot tub and dry off by the many fire pits they have. So around mid day we thought about it and decided that it doesn't matter what room we are in because we were sooo relaxed as is. We ended up saying nothing about to the staff and would just address our concerns later since I didn't want a change of room or anything discounted. Yes, the hotel was THAT calming on me.

I could go on about the beauty of this hotel but let me talk about what happened when I left and was asked to give a survey via email. I'm always very critical in surveys because they help provide constructive feedback to those running the place. I wrote about my situation and stated a few other concerns I had. Within TEN MINUTES of submitting the survey the MANAGER called me up to discuss the survey. I told him about how we didn't want to address the problem at the hotel because we were having a good time and he understood. I also told him I didn't want anything for my troubles because we had a good stay. Well we talked for awhile and he agreed with some of my comments and gave me his personal email address so the next time I stay with his hotel he will book the hotel for me. I really can't describe the conversation I had with him but I was extremely satisfied with how well he listened and addressed my concerns. Not only that, but he recommended a hotel near where I live (and is not related to the hotel he currently works at). Crazy!

So here is the bottom line, I had a MINOR problem and it was addressed above and beyond what I would say is needed for "great service". Furthermore the hotel is the best, most relaxing yet fun hotel in Daytona Beach.

My only recommendation now is for some lower prices on the drinks which are high even for a nice hotel. There may be some reasons I don't know that cause this, but lots of folks I met ended up bringing their own drinks (bought from the grocery stores) ha!

So just book your hotel here. I will again and, in fact, I am looking at having a wedding there!

Keep up the good work guys!

Absolutely Fantastic!!!!

This will have been the second time that my mother and I have stayed at the resort for a girl's weekend, and all I can say is that it gets better every time.
We arrived there on a thursday afternoon and were immediately greeted by a friendly valet who helped us with our luggage and showed us inside. The young lady checking us in couldn't have been more friendlier. The check in process took about 3 minutes and she showed us to our room. We chose the Ocean Front Lanai room. I will tell you that you should most definitly splurge for this room. It is fantastic !!! Also try and ask for room 120, it is the last room on the first floor. It is the best room. It is away from everything so you can relax without all the noise.
The tiki bar is open and if you lay out by the pool make sure you ask for Scott. He was our server the entire time that we were there. He is Fantastic. We never had an empty cup. He really pampered us and made us feel like we were the only ones there. The restaurant there is Fabulous as well as the spa. if you get a hot stone massage make sure you ask for Angela. She is great at what she does.
We had such a great time and look forward to coming back in August.

hotel stay

This is our first time at the Shores Resort and Spa. We stayed two nights. Our stay was very nice, the staff were all professional and kind. The weather however was terrible. 10 plus inches of rain in 2 days that we were here! Can't stop mother nature! Regardless, we still enjoyed our stay and would come back again in the future.

What a GREAT weekend!

I kidnapped my husband for his 60th birthday and brought him to The Shores. What a perfect choice. The staff were outstanding, the room was a delight, the food was wonderful, and the beach was clean. We enjoyed the tiki bar (a lot), rented a cabana for the day, and played in the ocean. The people that we met while staying there were fun, outgoing, and will be friends in the future. Thank you for a fantastic weekend.

Nice stay

My husband and I had a wonderful night at this hotel. The atmosphere was nice. The beach was a few steps away. The tiki bar was awesome. Catherine the bartender was the best. The food was great. The room was average but the view made up for that. The only thing I was surprised by was these little bugs that I found at bedside and in the bathroom. We would definitely stay here again. They had free parking across the street but they had a walkway directly to the hotel. The prices were average for that type of hotel.Oh, the firepit was romantic and worth the extra cost. The outdoor swimming pool was heated.Nice.
