4 Nearby Parks to Visit in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida
Nearly all visitors to the great state of Florida have heard of Daytona Beach, but did you know there’s a smaller Daytona Beach Shores located nearby? The Shores Resort & Spa is located in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida. This small, scenic city was formed in 1960, and has been growing quickly ever since. In this article, we’ll introduce you to the nearby parks to explore, as well as our oceanfront resort and spa.

Daytona Beach Shores is incredibly pedestrian and tourist friendly. Here are the top four nearby parks that you should check out when you visit:
#1, Frank Rendon Park – This park is located right next door to our oceanfront resort, making it the perfect spot to take the kids to play, or to walk fido. Please keep in mind that dogs are welcome at the park, but not on the beach. The covered picnic areas and grills are great for a quick lunch, or an evening barbecue. The playground was also recently replaced. The facilities are well maintained, including the lighting.
#2, Lula M. McElroy Park – McElroy Park is a short, 5-minute drive from The Shores Resort & Spa, and is one of the largest in the area. This three-acre site includes tennis, half-court basketball, and pickleball on lighted courts, as well as a baseball field. In 2010, the park was renovated to also include a playground, fitness/gym area, and a pavilion. Picnic areas are available, as well as limited parking.
#3, Fornari Park – This simple park is within five minutes of our resort, and offers beachfront parking and access with a restroom—includes playground equipment for the kids, showers, and picnic tables. Well maintained and kept up. Another nice feature is the dune walkovers, with observation deck.
#4, Van Avenue Park – This beachfront park offers restrooms, off-beach parking, and beachfront access on a walkover ramp. The park also includes a fire pit, picnic tables, outdoor showers, and a covered area.
Daytona Beach Shores is great for exploring, and has a lot to offer. Guests equally enjoy checking out the parks, as well as staying put and lounging beachside at our resort. That choice is up to you.
