Having a Memorable Golf Experience at the Daytona Beach Golf Club

Daytona Beach Golf Course

Are you fond of watching or, better yet, playing golf? You’ve most likely heard Daytona Beach Golf Club is one of the best courses to play in the area. It is known for providing excellent service and great value. If you haven’t played a round here yet, you owe it to yourself to come and play, so you’ll experience first-hand its two awesome courses, the North and the South.

This municipal golf course is situated at 600 Wilder Blvd. in Daytona Beach, Florida. The City of Daytona Beach owns and runs this great facility that also offers a practice putting green, driving range with lights and a fully-stocked pro shop. If you feel like you want to eat right after your round, you may dine at the full restaurant that offers great cuisine and thirst-quenching drinks.

Daytona Beach Golf Club is run by General Manager John Cameron with Superintendent Forrest Ensminger, and onsite Golf Professional Brian Jaquet. In line with the management’s mission, its staff is determined to go beyond the extra mile to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

You may want to play first at the North course. It has an open guest policy so you can play at anytime here. This 18-hole course was built in 1946. It was designed by Amos “Slim” Deatherage, who supervised its construction. However, it has undergone a major transformation in 1997. The greens, bunkers and the tees were totally remodeled. The result was a lot better but more challenging as it now winds through dense live oaks and pines. Additionally, it has more water hazards as well as undulations on the greens. Hence, it is tougher than the previous version of the course.

On the other hand, the South course, designed by Donald Ross, was constructed first back in 1921, including all 18 holes. Up to this day, its original design remains almost the same. Just like the North course, it is also open all year round and you’re welcome to play anytime. The tee shot is very forgiving but the approaches are challenging. So, getting close to the flag stick for that birdie attempt is not that easy. Thankfully, this course has fewer water hazards, but has the same dense oaks and tall pines as the other course.

So, if you are planning for a weekend tee time for family bonding or a group outing, Daytona Beach Golf Club is the right course for you. With the help of their experienced professional staff, you’re surely going to enjoy a successful golf experience. Slower times on the course are best for less experienced players. The driving range is a great, low pressure outing as well.

The Daytona Beach Golf Club also has special programs for juniors, ladies and seniors. The 36 holes tropical golf is definitely going to be a pleasure for you. Have a wonderful day at the golf course!
