Learning More About the Daytona Beach Pier & Boardwalk
Planning a visit to the Daytona Beach Pier & Boardwalk this springtime? Look no further as we give you a breakdown of the great stuff you’ll find at Daytona Beach!
Foodies rejoice as you can visit Joe’s Crab Shack at the pier first before heading out to other areas. Located at 1200 Main Street, Joe’s Crab Shack features beach-themed casual dining, with the freshest seafood and both local and international fare that you and the entire family can enjoy. After eating, we recommend that you head over to the Daytona Beach Bandshell.
The Daytona Beach Bandshell is a historic performance site, located at 70 Boardwalk Avenue in front of the Oceanfront Park. This amphitheater features a variety of musical performances (from different genres) from May to September of every year. Enthrall your senses with great covers from tribute bands as well as original compositions from Dixieland bands, jazz groups, big band and R&B groups as well. The Bandshell can also accommodate up to 5,000 individuals, making it one of the most convenient places to hold big events in the Daytona area.
For some good old fashioned family fun, visit the Joyland Amusement Center & Snackbar, open year-round and is a genuine, family-owned business operating for years now. Enjoy two arcades with modern video games, as well as more classic family arcade games like Skee-Ball. There is also an in-house gift shop, multiple snack bars if you are feeling puckish any time of the day and yes, if you are around in May, the Joyland Amusement Center features nightly street performers and there are fireworks displays too every weekend (Saturdays) at 9:45 PM on the dot. For carnival rides (yes, there’s one nearby!), visit the Screamer’s Park at 25 South Atlantic Avenue, which now features the terrifyingly glorious ride “The Vomatron,” which has been billed “the ride astronauts fear.” Think of the possibilities!
And finally, let’s not forget that you’re on the beach! Don’t forget to visit Oceanside Paddle Sports, at 100 North Atlantic Avenue for all paddle sport-related needs. They also provide kayaks and surfboards – they have everything covered, really.
