Upcoming Daytona Beach Event: 29th Annual Spring Daytona Turkey Run
No wonder Daytona Beach, Florida attracts so many local and international visitors. There’s never a shortage of things to do or places to see. The coming weeks are no exception. On March 23 – 25, 2018, there’s a family friendly event being held at the infield of Daytona International Speedway called the Spring Daytona Turkey Run. Held twice yearly, this event is an excellent way to spend your weekend.
Affectionately known as the largest combined car show and swap meet in the United States, this three day event is the perfect way to pass your time and get to see some amazing hot rods. Car enthusiasts from all across the US and internationally make their way to racing’s most celebrated location. Attendees will enjoy over 6,000 vintage, muscle cars, classics, trucks, and more. The event includes over 2,500 swap meet spaces, live entertainment, many different types of food, and an Artisan Alley.
The Car Show typically has over 5,000 collector cars on display. The Car Corral is the perfect place to go collector car shopping. With over 1,500 cars on display and ready for sale, everything’s a little more exciting. As all collectors know, the swap meet is one of the best places to track down rare finds. Collector car parts and memorabilia will also be on available during the weekend. There’s even an Arts & Fashion Show, with many types of handmade crafts and items for everyone (great for gifts that can’t be found anywhere else).
The Turkey Run was created in 1974 by Stu Sarjeant. The inaugural Turkey Run hosted 45 cars and was held at the Howard Johnson Hotel near Belair Plaza. The event has grown tremendously over the years. Today, the event has grown to over 5,000 show cars, 1,200 cars for sale in the Car Corral, and over 1,000 swap meet vendors, making it the largest combined classic car show and swap meet across the US. If you haven’t been out to the event, you owe it to yourself to bring the family and see it all live.
